Sefton Pharmacy services viability – RAG reviews
Community Pharmacy Sefton has undertaken a comprehensive review of all commissioned services to assess their ongoing viability. As part of this process, each service has been assigned a RAG (Red–Amber–Green) rating, reflecting the LPC’s view of its current sustainability and financial impact.
The ratings take into account a range of factors, this includes accounting for staff costs, consistency of service documentation, administrative burden and other viability factors.
Staff costs have been calculated through a service costing tool provided by Community Pharmacy England, alongside data collected from polls estimating the time taken to deliver each service. We would also like to thank our contractors for their participation in these reviews.
These ratings also serve as a tool for the LPC to facilitate discussions with commissioners, ensuring that service design, funding, and delivery models are realistic, sustainable, and supportive of our current network of contractors. These ratings are also for you, the contractor, whether the service in question is viable for your business’s model of operation.
