About Community Pharmacy Sefton

PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE

Community Pharmacy Sefton is  an elected body of the local pharmacy contractors. It is a statutory  and an officially recognised body which  has to be consulted by NHSE  on all matters relating to terms of service and the Pharmacy contract.

We currently represent 66 contractors across Sefton.

Our aim is to accurately reflect the professional views and aspirations of all pharmacists engaged in community pharmacy that provide NHS pharmaceutical services in Sefton and to liaise and work with C&M ICS, Sefton Place and other commissioning organisations.

The LPC  is and has been involved in negotiations for local enhanced services such as the provision of supply of emergency hormonal contraception managed under patient group direction, needle syringe exchange, supervised methadone consumption, smoking cessation services, dressing service, minor ailments etc.

The LPC is involved in supporting the implementation of the pharmacy contractual framework.

The LPC is here to help and advise pharmacy contractors in all NHS matters and to improve pharmaceutical services to the local population.  We believe that our contractors can help local organisations to reach the local population and help meet their health needs.

The LPC works  on the basis of the model constitution developed  by  Community Pharmacy England  (CPE) and approved via a special meeting of Sefton contractors .

It operates under the governance arrangements outlined within the constitution which state that the LPC must conduct its affairs in accordance with the principles of good governance.

By Invitation the following organisations are welcome to attend – NHS England contract officers representatives, Cheshire & Merseyside ICS, Local Authority representatives and the CPE regional representative.

Pharmacy contractors may attend by contacting the Chief Officer: lisa@sefton-lpc.org.uk
